It’s been one of those days. You know, the kind where you start something with the best of intentions and something else gets in the way; or you get distracted. In my case, it was less of the first and more of the latter. I’ll give you examples.
Good News – I decided to tackle my freezer; it needed to be reorganized.
Bad New – I got distracted by what I found.
Good News – I am now infusing old frozen vanilla beans in the vodka for the win AND I found a bag of frozen dinner rolls that make the perfect winter coat for the Pumpkin Spice Kisses Megan sent me.
Once the dough rises around the kisses, I’ll pinch them shut, bake them off, and smother them in a caramel glaze. Yes way!Bad News – If The Complete Package doesn’t pitch in to help eat these, I’m going to be in trouble. Serious trouble. Which brings me to the…
Good News – It’s sweat pants season! Wahoo!
Bad News – I never finished organizing the freezer because I found the end of a bag of frozen shredded hashbrown potatoes way in the back.
Good News – I decided hashbrowns with soft-fried eggs smothered in Texas Brew Salsa was absolutely essential for today’s lunch. It was a good call.
Bad News – It was gone way too quickly, just like our Texas Brew Salsa Giveaway this week.
Good News – You still have time to enter! Comments close at 9:00pm CST Friday, October 5th so click here and leave a comment. You could win a big box of Texas Brew Salsa of your very own. And that’s always good news.
Hashbrowns, salsa, and impromptu treats–sounds like all good news to me! Forgoing housework in favor of food is always a good thing. Love the way your mind works!
I don’t usually get distracted when I tackle a project like this, but the hashbrowns really threw me. The kisses/dough thing was just a bonus. :)
The kisses in the bread dough is the most impressive sidetrack I’ve ever heard of…well played!
We’ll see if TCP is as impressed when he gets home and finds that the freezer hasn’t been touched an there are sweets on the counter. Oopsie.
How much fun are you!? I feel like I’m in good company, as getting side-tracked is my norm…Sounds like a very productive side-tracking though, which isn’t always my case. :)
YUMMMMY is the only other thing I have to say. Love all your creative ideas in the kitch!
aloha friend, from crisp and sunny Washington State.
Aloha, Monica! Sounds like you and your boys are enjoying your vacation in Washington state. I’m loving the photos you’ve posted on your blog. Gig Harbor is gorgeous!
I don’t know what I love more; I’m a freak for eggs with salsa, and a sucker for anything with caramel.
How about….. both! My eggs & salsa lunch rocked. Unfortunately, the kisses in rolls didn’t turn out as I’d hoped. I’m afraid that bag of rolls was forgotten for too long. After 4 hours in a sunny window, they were the same size they were when frozen. I think the yeast died and went to hot roll heaven months ago. It’s a shame, but it happens.
love the hash browns and eggs…lol…you are making me hungry….easy and simple…way to go and thanks so much for all the salsa love :) Brenda
Proof that your salsa is so good, you can eat it three meals a day. YUM!
