The lovely and talented Anne at From My Sweet Heart blog has been kind enough to give me this blogging award. In fact, it’s a cooking award, so I’m especially flattered. I don’t really consider myself a food blogger, since I tend to throw recipes and food reviews in with a bunch of random family and travel topics. As I’ve said before, my blog is a lot like my junk drawers. You never know what you’re going to find. And since I’ve started featuring The Complete Package’s recipes as well, I’m assuming I’ll have to share this award with him. Look, honey! We got a cooking award! Can you believe it? He’ll probably say that you’re all tuning in to see his recipes instead of mine. He may be right. If he is, free to keep that little nugget to yourself. I’m fragile. I can’t take that kind of rejection. It could break me, and no one wants to find me in the pantry drowning my sorrows in a pan of warm brownies. Trust me… it ain’t pretty.
In honor of Anne and her faith in my blog, here’s a rundown of some of the recipes TCP and I have posted over the past year. Click on any picture to see the full post. And Anne – thanks again. You made my day. Truly.
And in the spirit of sharing, here’s where I go to find culinary inspiration:
The Hill Country Cook
Jenna’s Everything Blog
A Sweet Pea Chef
Brown Eyed Baker
Wanna Be A Country Cleaver
If you have time, click on the links above and visit these fine ladies. They are creative, inspirational and a lot of fun, and I love them all. And don’t forget to visit Anne at From My Sweet Heart. She’s a great example of the best thing about blogging – the new friends you make along the way. Have a great week!

Congrats on the award! I am going to hop on over and bookmark the posole and the flank steak sandwiches. mmmm
For the record, all the recipes look delicious, TCP or not. :)
Thanks, Mads! I’m happy to see the shameless pandering for a compliment paid off, but a little bummed that I won’t need to bake brownies now. Let us know what you think of the posole (mine) and the flank steak sandwiches (his). I’ll be honest…. that soy-ginger mayo from the flank steak sandwiches is pretty awesome. You’ll find yourself putting it on everything from fish sandwiches to sushi. It’s good stuff.
I think I would pick ……. Mads (I like both recipes too). Posole sounds soooo good right now. Must be time to smoke some more pork ribs for the posole.
Posole is always good, but not when it’s 104F outside. Not for me, anyway. Now smokey pork ribs? Well…. there’s ALWAYS room for smokey pork ribs.
How on earth did I miss your crunchy fried chicken recipe? My boys would live on fried chicken if I let them, and I’m always trying new variations. And your Chicken Bucket cole slaw? To. Die. For. I’ve made it a few times for friends & family and I think if I ever make a different type of slaw I might have a mutiny on my hands. Everyone raves.
Thanks for the shout out, and for sending me to From My Sweet Heart!
You’ll have to try it some night with a side of the cole slaw. That’s what I do. I also make mashed potatoes with real butter & a little sour cream stirred in, and homemade biscuits. Mmm, mmm good! If you give it a shot, let me know what you think of the chicken. Those shaggy crumbs are to die for. And thanks for visiting Anne at From My Sweet Heart. She’s also on Tasty Kitchen. She’s on my friend list if you go looking for her.
Aww thanks for the shoutout Nana!! *Big blushing grin* ~Megan

It’s more fun if you say it like Sean Connery.
